Benedict Van
CEO, Founder
Benedict Van founded hereUare in 2002 and serves as the company's Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer. Ben is a technological visionary with a specialty in building and restructuring high tech companies. With over 21 years of experience in a vast spectrum of industries ranging from telecom, Internet, semiconductor, alternative energies and medical instrumentation, he specializes in designing successful start up structures and nurturing the business blueprint through its developmental stages.
Testaments of Ben's strong intuition and balanced approach to the new and changing world of business are ubiquitous. In 1996, he founded E-Capital, an investment company which stands apart in the industry for capitalizing upon new technological and information explosions without forgoing the rewards of traditional investment models. This rare ability to embrace technologies with an uncanny confidence has also been responsible for the creation of Crownland Group of Companies, an international conglomerate that engaged in venture capital investments. Crownland invested successfully into Biocompatible, Inc. and Cardio Genesis. Ben received his Doctorate of Business Administration from University of the Pacific.
Anthony K. Chan
CFO
Anthony Chan has served as our Chief Financial Officer and Director since December 2005 and also as President, Chief Operating Officer and Director from February 2002 through July 2003. He co-founded in July 2005 Golden Gate China Acquisition Corporation which focuses on M&A and PIPE transactions in China. He also served as the CEO of Pacific Systems Control Technology, the former parent company of PeopleNet International, from 1997 to February 2003. From 1985 to 1990, Anthony served as the Director of Chinese Affairs for the Eisenberg Group of Companies, a diversified business enterprise, where Anthony's principal duty was to negotiate technology transfer contracts in the People's Republic of China. Prior to 1985, Anthony was employed by Bank of America as an economic forecaster. Anthony received his MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.
Anna Thayer
VP, Business Development and Sales
Anna Thayer's dedicated successes have earned her a highly visible career in technology sales management. Armed with extensive sales smarts, motivational speaking skills and a focused yet energetic management style, she received the prestigious Gold Club award for sales management three years running. She joined hereUare from WestCorp., as the Northwest VP of Sales, where she successfully managed 6 sales offices across the northwest region and managed the company's largest accounts, Microsoft and WebEx. Prior to that, Anna was the VP of Business Development and Marketing at ITXS.com, where she signed on multiple strategic partners at a phenomenal rate. As VP of Sales, West Coast for Intercall she received the Manager of the Year Award, and as a corporate trainer, Anna coached Airborne Express' worldwide sales force to achieve the highest yearly quota increase in the company's sales history. Anna earned her B.A. in communications from Washington State University and continued her executive education at Wharton and Stanford University.
Tami Tran
VP, Marketing
Tami Tran has been on the cutting edge of telecommunications and consumer products marketing for the last 17 years. Her many years of engineering know-how along with her proven product marketing strategies allow her to draw upon a powerful range of experiences. Prior to her work with hereUare, she grew the Edge Media Router from conception to market for Skystream Networks. Similarly, her team-building efforts and product positioning won her major accounts such as Reuters, British Telecom and Safeway, just to mention a few. In 1999, Tami joined Cisco Consumer Line of Business to deliver the first Cisco cable residential gateway to Comcast and TimeWarner. In 1997, with Hyundai Electronics, Tami introduced the first Hyundai CDMA mobile phone to Verizon and Sprint wireless service providers. Tami was involved in spearheading the introduction of the first cable modem in 1994 to cable operators from First Pacific Networks. Tami earned her MBA from St. Mary's and her Bachelor's of Computer Engineering Degree from San Jose State.
